It's no wonder that the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Dead men tell no tales, chose the gold coast as the perfect setting for the range of locations required. within 20km there is ocean, jungle, white sandy beaches and sub-tropical surroundings, not to mention the production facilities and horizon tank at Movie World's studios. The built environment on the Gold Coast also offers a range of opportunities for contemporary productions, with high rise buildings and waterfront luxury houses not unlike Florida and rural properties with rustic buildings and surroundings providing locations for period productions.
